Ransomes
Mersea Island is as pretty as a picture for artists and photographers. You can see the Island from our back garden. It has plenty to offer visitors looking for a great day out and is only a seven minute drive from our house.
East Mersea is more remote and is home to many holiday parks. Its biggest lure is Cudmore Grove Country Park, which offers a lovely scenic walk along the coastline.
West Mersea is the main hub, with shops, cafes, art exhibitions and seafront restaurants including the Company Shed, Oyster Bar, Coast Inn and Victory Pub.
Please remember that Mersea Island is cut off from the mainland for about an hour on Spring tides. You will need to check this when planning your visit, especially if you are attending a function on the island!
