As we all begin to pack up Christmas the ‘Back to Work Blues’ seem to be lurking, but why not escape the chaos by planning a weekend break? Colchester is buzzing with January sales and as our town centre is brimming with new shops, there are plenty of bargains to be had before the season is out.

With the arrival of winter comes the promise of beautiful winter sunsets and our garden is overflowing with birds on the many feeders. We now have two familiar pheasants popping round daily, allowing for many wonderful photographic opportunities.

With Halloween approaching now seems to be the perfect time to plan that ‘Holiday Retreat’, although we are a little out of the way so do not get the traditional ‘Trick or Treat’ knock on the door.

Warm weather has brought the garden to life and there is so much to see and do in and around the local area. Come and visit Mersea for wonderful sailing and superb food on the waterfront. This photograph was taken by our fifteen year old daughter after an evenings sail!

Cadet Week is from 1st August and we have an Aga for drying all your sailing clothes overnight!

There are so many wonderful places to visit locally such as the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which is only 20 minutes away.
